The 10-8 West Morris Wolfpack defeated the 1-15 Parsippany Hills Vikings 77-50 in a game where the Wolfpack received much production from their bench. West Morris jumped out to an early lead, and never looked back.
The game started with the Wolfpack heading out to an early lead, and with the Wolfpack’s junior guard, James D’Angelo, showcasing his talent with a perfect behind the back pass to senior Tim Drezwinski for an easy two. This play awarded the Wolfpack with much momentum, and the Vikings were forced to take a tie out with 2:40 left in the first. By the end of the first quarter the Wolfpack amounted a staggering 20-6 lead.
Going into the second quarter the Wolfpack were just not satisfied enough. They came out just as hot as in the first, and put up fifteen of their thirty five points in the second behind Junior, Tom Cabarle, who amounted eight of his ten points in the first half.
Par Hills began to get their offense going behind Greg Depugh and John Jablonka who accounted for twelve of the Vikings 18 points in the first half. Maso Cotton contributed with four points and Tyler Piecuch with two. At half the Wolfpack lead 35-18.
As the third quarter began West Morris’s bench began to produce. Senior guard, Derek Kambour, allotted six points, while starter, Ed McCraken, contributed four. As good as the Wolfpack offense was their defense was even better. West Morris received sparks from Ryan McElwaine and Adam Brochu who produced two blocks and four points of the bench. At the end of the third West Morris had a jaw dropping lead of 61-31.
Both teams received much production from their benches in the fourth quarter, but nobody was better than junior forward, Jake Mazzullo who went a perfect 3 for 3 from the field with eight points. Max Gerardi donated 3 rebounds and four points, while Chris Gaudio supplied five points and some very nice assists. Joe Han of the Vikings heated up in the fourth hitting three three pointers, as well as Dan Castillo provided four points. West Morris’s Chris Donovan provided quality minutes along with Zach Nolan, and the two of them provided three points. James D’Angelo had a game high eighteen points while fellow captain Tim “Zaza” Drezwinski produced sixteen.
The overall team effort of the Wolfpack ultimately proved too much for Par Hills who suffered a 77-50 defeat.
