The date was January 8, 2010 the new decade was just begging and the Falcons and Gaels were sure to start this new year off with a bang!

In the first half, Jefferson had a lot of practice shooting. The Falcons could not finish around the basket. On the other hand, Roxbury put up over twenty points in the first half. The one real bright spot for Jefferson was the dunk by senior Gavin McCarney in the first quarter. The Gaels out played the Falcons with power and skill.

Going into half time the Falcons were depressed and had to play better in the second half. The results of the second half were that Jefferson improved with shooting and play a little. Roxbury still in the second half played very vigorously with finishing around the basket. The score at the end of the game was Roxbury 58 Jefferson 33.

The Gaels played very well in the game by working together as a team. This kind of win gives Roxbury a great deal of momentum going into their next games.

Jefferson could not make the shots when it counted in the game. Also, the Falcons need to learn to not rely on their star player Gavin McCarney in games. This strategy is flawed because everyone has a bad game sooner or later, and if McCarney has a good or bad game it could decide if the Falcons win or lose.
