Strength training in the off-season can have a significant carry over effect onto the athletic field come game day. At the high school level, strength training will give you the edge over your competition that you have been looking for. Training in the off-season is bound to get you ahead of your opponents, but, train with the wrong rep scheme and you may be doing more harm than good. Many athletes in today’s world strength train all year round, but, most importantly in the off-season. You can focus all of you attention on strength training in the off-season without having to worry about practice and games. Off-season training is the quickest way to gain size, mass, strength, endurance, and power, if done correctly.
